Apple Leisure Group (ALG) has announced it has signed a deal with Oasis Hotels & Resorts for the company’s AMResorts subsidiary to manage two family-friendly resorts in Mexico, in Cancun and Akumal.
The resorts are conversions of two existing properties, which will undergo renovations and reopen under AMResorts’ Now and Sunscape brands on June 1. The Grand Oasis Sens in Cancun will be rebranded as the Now Emerald Cancun, offering guests 427 rooms and the brand’s signature Unlimited-Luxury vacation concept. The second property, Grand Oasis Tulum, will reopen as the Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa, the first hotel for the brand in the area. That resort will have 360 rooms, and it will offer Sunscape’s Unlimited-Fun vacation concept.
The move is the latest in AMResorts’ ongoing expansion in Mexico, which will continue in late 2019 with the debut of Now Natura Riviera Cancun. Also on tap in 2020 and beyond are two new Breathless-branded properties, one in Tulum and one in Cancun. Construction on the Breathless Tulum Resort & Spa is set to begin in the second quarter of 2019, with a tentative opening date scheduled for the second half of 2021, while construction on the Breathless Cancun Resort & Spa is already underway, aiming for a 2021 opening.
The company also recently launched the new Reflect Resorts & Spas brand via a deal to reflag three of Grupo Hotelero’s Krystal Grand properties. Officially launched at this past October’s Cancun Travel Mart, that brand includes properties in Cancun, Los Cabos and Nuevo Vallarta.
