The Ansonborough Charleston to Reopen in September 2024

The Ansonborough Charleston will celebrate its official grand opening on September 3, 2024. Formerly known as The Ansonborough Inn, this intimate luxury inn is set to relaunch following a property-wide, multimillion-dollar refresh.

The structure was originally built as a three-story stationer’s warehouse in 1901 and, as part of this project, has been restored by Studio 11 Design. The newly transformed intimate lobby and communal area has ample open seating and is intended to serve as a hub for social gatherings.

The hotel offers just 45 guestrooms and suites. Guestroom highlights include antique subway tile mirror backsplashes, brushed gold fixtures, mosaic tile flooring and quartz countertops. A standout accommodation is the 871-square-foot Admiral Suite, which offers apartment-style spaces complete with a walk-in shower, Peloton bike, dining table and gas fireplace, perfect for special occasions or intimate gatherings.

Good to know: When it reopens, The Ansonborough Charleston will offer Scarborough & Squirrel Bar, which will serve light fare and artisanal cocktails, beers and wines, alongside a poker room tucked away behind a discreet bookcase enclave. Open only to guests, the new Rooftop Garden offers comfortable seating areas, fire pits and surround sound with views of Charleston’s ubiquitous church steeples and the Cooper River Bridge.
