Atlantis Paradise Island has announced its first annual "Table Takeovers" series, presented by the Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival, starting September 2. The month-long series will include collaborations with Atlantis and visiting chefs J.J. Johnson and Jose Garces.
From September 2 to 9, Chef Johnson, winner of the James Beard Foundation Book Award, will introduce a Caribbean brasserie concept at Bimini Road, Atlantis’ Marina Village, the restaurant that showcases Bahamian cuisine. Chef Johnson’s takeover introduces a dining experience with limited-edition menu items showcasing his African Caribbean roots with dishes such as Oxtail Dumplings, Amarillo Broth Snapper and Tuna Ceviche Tostada with Avocado, and Goat Chops Curry. During the takeover, guests can meet with the chef during a book signing for his highly anticipated new cookbook, “The Simple Art of Rice: Recipes from Around the World for the Heart of Your Table.”
From September 28 to October 1, Garces, chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, best known for his “Iron Chef” and various James Beard Award wins, will present a Spanish and Latin American takeover at Café Martinique, Atlantis’ French restaurant. Chef Garces will offer a menu that spans the globe, focusing on authentic flavors and presentations such as Pulpo Gallego, Ensalada de Jamón and Montadito de Pato. His menu will highlight a tour of classic Spanish dishes with a twist. During the takeover, guests will have the opportunity to meet Chef Garces during a book signing of his cookbook, “The Latin Road Home.”
Atlantis Paradise Island has announced the new "Table Takeovers" series just ahead of announcing the dates and programming for the second annual Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival in March 2024.
