Backland Eco-Resort Comes to Arizona

Backland, a luxury eco-resort near the Grand Canyon, will officially welcome guests on September 1. In the first phase, 10 tents will be available for booking across four categories. The Backland Suite accommodates up to four persons and has a king bed as well as a queen sofa bed; the Sky Suite has the same features as the Backland Suite, along with a 16-foot SkyView window over the bed; the Grand Suite sleeps up to six and has a king bed, a queen sofa bed and a twin bunk bed; and the Grand Sky Suite offers the same amenities as the Grand Suite, besides a 16-foot SkyView window over the bed.

All tent suites have full en-suite bathrooms with a shower, plus luxury linens, electricity and automatic climate control in a fully insulated and energy-efficient tent. Tent-side parking (electric vehicle charging at reception), daily housekeeping, outdoor patio, coffee maker and mini-fridge, ecological toiletries and water conservation fixtures are also available, as is Wi-Fi in the lounge only.

Backland is situated about 20 minutes from Williams, AZ. It is spread across 160 acres of private land and offers easy access to the state’s attractions. Miles of biking, hiking, and riding trails weave throughout the national forest surrounding Backland. The resort is a 15-minute detour off the most common routes to the Grand Canyon. It is 40 minutes from Flagstaff and 90 minutes from Sedona.

Amenities include an on-site restaurant, pond with beach, e-bike rentals, nature trails, complimentary yoga, spa, geocaching scavenger hunt (complimentary), stargazing, fire pit with s’mores and bird watching.
