Bar Harbor’s Salt Cottages, the closest resort to Acadia National Park, has unveiled 10 new single-level bungalow-style hotel rooms. Each room features ocean views, a private entrance, and canopy covered patios where guests can watch the sunrise over Frenchman Bay. The coastal-style Maine retreat opened for its first season in July of 2022, with the completion of the new bungalow-style hotel rooms rounding out the property.
Minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, Salt Cottages provides travelers with a seaside haven nearby Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance. In addition to the new bungalow-style rooms, the property features private ocean-view cottages with trellises and white picket fences, ranging from studios to two bedrooms. Both cottages and rooms feature soothing coastal-chic designs, as well as private bathrooms with vintage-style fixtures and accessories, Cuddledown bedding, in-room coffee makers and mini fridges.
“Demand for the Salt Cottages experience since opening last season has been strong and growing,” said David Largen, chief operating officer of Atlantic Hospitality. “The addition of 10 new and adjacent rooms to our inventory will make it easier to accommodate groups and larger families who wish to stay close, while still maintaining the serenity of a private bungalow-style room.”
Salt Cottages provides guests with a range of facilities including a heated pool overlooking the ocean, on-site snack bar, family-friendly lawn games including cornhole and badminton, an on-site clubhouse and a fire pit complete with s’mores.
Rates for the new bungalow-style rooms start at $359.
