The Benjamin Royal Sonesta Hotel New York has unveiled the first phase of its transformation. In celebration, the hotel is offering "A Royal Unveiling" travel deal with rates up to 25 percent off plus 2,500 Sonesta Travel Pass Points for stays through February 28, 2025. Book by September 30, 2024 using code UNVEIL.
Designed by the DLR Group, the midtown hotel has shown off new public spaces, including a refreshed lobby. The front desk at the hotel, detailed after a cigar box, sports rich ebony wood and warm leather and is outlined with gold detailing. The lobby has new furnishings, bespoke art and authentic local touches.
The hotel has also renovated its 209 residential-style guestrooms, including the Benjamin Suite, and introduced the brand-new Beverly Suite. The accommodations were redesigned with walnut wood tones, herringbone floors and light-colored wall coverings. The suites now have new lounge seating with sleeper sofas and burl wood-topped coffee tables. The two premium suites, The Benjamin and The Beverly, have the best views of New York City's skyline.
The Benjamin Suite has a wood-clad gallery art wall, a burl wood conference table paired with new leather wingback dining chairs, a custom built-in desk off the living room and a menswear-inspired desk chair. In the bedroom, the leather and wood headboard span the wall as the focal point of the room and a newly added walk-in closet has custom millwork. Alternatively, The Beverly Suite has delicate finishes, soft curves and decorative light fixtures. The living room has a library wall with intricate detailing and shelving for accessories, plus lounge seating and ochre lounge chairs. The freestanding burl wood desk has carved legs and the marble dining table with a fluted wood base seats six velvet chairs—illuminated by a circular glass chandelier. The new kitchen has marble porcelain finishes and the bedroom has a floor-to-ceiling headboard with a floral print and leather panels.
