The Cool Pool of the Week: Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai

Millennials heading to Dubai this summer and beyond can cool off at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah’s new The Terrace, which houses both fresh water and salt water swimming pools.

Set in the Arabian Gulf, The Terrace, which opened in May of last year, is a private, 100,000+ square-foot outdoor luxury leisure facility with two pools, four Jacuzzis, 24 dedicated butler-serviced air conditioned cabanas and a beach area with 1,000 tons of white sand and luxury day and sunbeds stretching 328 feet over the ocean.

The two impressive pools on The Terrace are ideal for relaxing, cooling down and soaking up the Arabian sun within plush surroundings. The fresh water pool spans more than 6,587 square feet. with a shaded swim-up bar at its center. The nearly 9,000 square-foot, salt water infinity pool appears to seamlessly blend with the sea.

But perhaps the coolest feature of the pools and The Terrace is how they came to be. It was built in full offshore in Finland and transported in eight pieces to Dubai by sea in an effort not to disturb the surrounding marine life with development.

Advisors should note that the newly opened Terrace space can be rented out for events of many sizes from cocktail receptions, weddings, product launches, etc.  Up to 800 guests can be welcomed and hosted depending on the set up of the event. To discuss having an event on The Terrace, advisors should email groupsales@jumeirah.com.

As mentioned, there is a shaded swim-up bar at the center of the fresh water pool. There is also Scape Restaurant & Bar, which is a chic venue floating on the Arabian Gulf serving California fusion cuisine with an eclectic mix of signature beverages.

Guests using the pools have access to the surrounding facilities on The Terrace including four Jacuzzis, 126 beach sun beds, 24 luxury day beds, and full access to the food and beverage service poolside, in the cabanas or at Scape Restaurant & Bar.

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah’s distinctive sail-shaped silhouette is an iconic symbol of Dubai and the flagship hotel of global hospitality brand, Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts. The hotel offers 202 luxurious duplex suites, a custom fleet of Rolls Royce cars, 24-karat gold iPads for guest use, and the famous helipad where tennis greats Roger Federer and Andre Agassi once played.
