The Cool Pool of the Week: Ibagari Boutique Hotel in Honduras

Millennials looking for a refreshing dip in Roatan, Honduras, have a choice between two infinity pools at the Ibagari Boutique Hotel.

The bigger one is arguably the better one, since it has a heated whirlpool built into it and has tropical trees right over it, allowing guests access to a little shade if the sun becomes a bit overwhelming.

Advisors should note that the bigger pool and surrounding area can be rented out for private events. To rent, we were told to contact the hotel at least one month in advance to be safe. Advisors should contact Thelma Morales, hotel manager, at thelma.morales@ibagarihotel.com

The second infinity pool is a bit smaller, but offers the same view of the Caribbean as the larger one does.

Ibagari Boutique Hotel also offers pool-side yoga classes upon request from the guests. There is no set schedule of activities. The hotel, which opened its doors in 2017, has eight rooms that all have a balcony with ocean views. All rooms also come with wooden floors.

While there are no swim-up bars here, the closest bar to both pools is the hotel’s Luna Muna bar. The signature cocktail here is the frozen coconut mojito, which consists of mint, coconut cream, condensed milk, Bacardi Coco Rum and ice. The most popular pool-side snacks are the conch carpaccio or wontons.
