Millennials looking for a unique spot to take a cool plunge in Nevis should check out the main pool at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, which is said to be the Caribbean’s only historic plantation inn located on the beach.
The pool at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club overlooks the sands of Nisbet Beach on the Atlantic Ocean side of Nevis. Swimmers and sunbathers can relax on the pool deck and enjoy full views of sister island, St. Kitts. For a relaxing spot to soak outside of the pool, be sure to check out the hotel's hot tub. Fun fact: Nisbet Plantation’s beach and hot tub served as backdrops for some of this year’s pictures for the recently published 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Guests can enjoy dining and beverage service from the adjoining Sea Breeze, also known for their hammock-side drink service along Nisbet’s beach.
Also along the deck is Coconuts, where the “breakfast ladies,” as they’re affectionately known, serve all resort guests breakfast each morning and provide plenty of island insider tips. The restaurant and pool deck is also the site of Nisbet’s weekly Thursday Beach BBQ.
Popular snacks and small bites include Local Crisps (plantains or sweet potatoes); Mahi Mahi Taquitos with jalapeno peppers, sour cream, guacamole; Nevisian Conch Fritters with spicy tomato sauce; and a Roti Chicken Wrap filled with chicken, potato in a light coconut curry and caramelized onion rolled in a roti skin – popular in the West Indies. Specials always include fresh fish often caught the same day and even by some of Nisbet’s staff.
One of the recommended signature drinks is the Tropical Splash, which includes dark rum passion fruit juice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, strawberry puree, a splash of lime juice, fresh mint leaves, a strawberry and an orange slice.
Nisbet Plantation Beach Club includes 36 cottage-style accommodations set across 30 tropical acres on Nevis. Old-world Caribbean charm is blended with modern-day conveniences, including Wi-Fi and hiker GPS.
