CoStar Data: Adele’s Residency Helped Munich Hotels Thrive

Adele’s 10-day residency drove significant performance growth for Munich’s hotel industry, according to August 2024 data from CoStar, a provider of online real estate marketplaces, information, and analytics in the property markets.

Adele performed a total of 10 nights at the Messe München, pushing double-digit growth across the August metrics: occupancy (+15.9 percent to 77.0 percent), ADR (+46.6 percent to 159.04 euros) and RevPAR (+69.9 percent to 122.46 euros).

The ADR and RevPAR levels were the highest for any August on record in Munich, while occupancy was the highest for August since 2017.

The market posted its highest ADR (+99.5 percent to 228.52 euros) and RevPAR (+138.9 percent to 211.04 euros) on opening night (August 2), while occupancy was the highest on August 30 (+44.2 percent to 93.7 percent).

Room rates exceeded 200 euros on nine of 10 concert nights. The peak ADR was Munich’s ninth highest this year, but surpassed levels seen during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in late-July (208 euros on July 27 and 166 euros on July 28).
