Set for a late 2018 opening, and overlooking Jamaica’s Doctor’s Cave beach, the new S Hotel Montego Bay was created by Chris Issa, owner of Kington’s Spanish Court Hotel and a noted Jamaican entrepreneur.
Bookings will be accepted in the fall, and the hotel’s website is still being constructed.
The 120-room S Hotel Montego Bay will include bars, a cafe, a pool scene, a Sky Bar and Lounge, an international restaurant, a spa, a boutique, and a gym.
The hotel’s signature Sky Suite will include 20-foot ceilings and a loft bedroom, while the Presidential Suite will feature three bedrooms and a living/dining room. Also, the hotel’s swimming pool will be framed by swim-out cabanas.
As far as dining goes, the resort will feature a beachside rum shack offering rum flights with an education about aged Jamaican rums. The pool bar will use top-shelf spirits and organic herbs to design craft cocktails and classics, while an all-day menu offers healthy snacks, made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and fresh juices.
The Sky Bar and Lounge, for exclusive Sky Club Suite guests, includes seating areas and sky-line beds for day and night rooftop relaxation and a modern cocktail menu fused with a Jamaican tapas menu prepared with fresh, locally grown ingredients.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the main restaurant will feature artisanal Jamaican and international cuisine with a custom selection of wines, Champagnes and a full range of specialty house-made local drinks. Guest can also enjoy regional and international seafood, and a wide variety of locally inspired dishes.
S Hotel Montego Bay also offers meeting and event spaces. Concierge services will offer tours, excursions, and a resort boutique will also feature accessories and ready-to-wear clothing from popular Jamaican designers.
S Hotel Montego Bay is centrally located on Montego Bay’s "Hip Strip" overlooking Doctor’s Cave beach and the Caribbean Sea. The hotel is five minutes from Sangster International Airport and walking distance to nightlife, restaurants and shopping.
Crissa Hotels was created by Issa. The word uses the derivative Jamaican Patois word, “Kriss,” which means “excellent.” The group now includes the Spanish Court Hotel and the Spanish Court Worthington event venue in Kingston, Tracks and Records bar and restaurant and now the S Hotel Montego Bay.
