Hilton has opened Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 210-room resort near Lihue Airport that gives the Curio brand its first Hawaii address.
The property sits inside the Hōkūala Resort community above Nāwiliwili Bay and Kalapakī Beach. It has 23 suites, and all guest rooms come with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private lanai. Hart Howerton and AHL handled the architecture, and Looney & Associates designed the interiors.
“The opening of Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi marks an exciting milestone as we introduce Curio Collection by Hilton to Hawaiʻi,” said Danny Hughes, president, Americas, Hilton. “For more than six decades, Hilton has been proud to welcome guests to the islands, sharing the warmth and hospitality of our team members.”
An opening offer, the Kauaʻi Island Escape package, takes 25% off the best available rate for stays of three nights or more. The resort participates in Hilton Honors.
For groups, the resort has more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space suited to meetings, weddings, and executive retreats.
There are two restaurants. Figueira overlooks the 18th hole of the Ocean Course at Hōkūala and bills itself as Kauai's only Portuguese-Hawaiian concept, with dishes such as Portuguese fisherman's stew, bacalhau no forno, and malasadas. The Wiliwili serves poke bowls, plate lunches, and shave ice by the pool. Executive Chef Hans Lentz and Director of Food and Beverage Romina Migliorini lead the culinary program.
The resort's cultural program, E Ala Ka Pilina, was built with local practitioners, historians, and nonprofits. The Kauaʻi Museum is its first partner, and later sessions will cover lei making, hula, traditional aquaculture, and land stewardship.
Guests have a pool and fitness center on site, plus preferred tee times at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course and complimentary bicycles. The wider Hōkūala community adds a full-service spa, tennis and pickleball courts, more than five miles of trails, and a working farm.
Hilton now has nearly 30 hotels across the islands.
