In the wake of Hurricane Maria, Fort Young Hotel in Dominica has announced that it is planning to reopen January 15, with 41 of its 72 rooms now available for booking.
In addition to the 41 rooms, many of the hotel’s core amenities, including its pool, Warner’s Bar and one of its meeting facilities are expected to be operational.
Guests can enjoy many of the hotel’s on-property activities and nearby excursions, including diving, snorkeling, canyoning, fishing and hiking among others.
The resort-style hotel, located in the capital city of Roseau, is currently open in a limited capacity, and at reduced rates, to support relief efforts and aid workers as the hotel, city and country rebuild. The hotel has restored its power, water and Wi-Fi, according to an official news release issued by the hotel.
Guests interested in booking a stay at Fort Young Hotel can reserve dates now, with stays beginning this January 15. Fort Young Hotel is expected to be fully restored, operational and reopened to the public in by October, according to the news release.

Meanwhile, Gregor Nassief, owner of the Secret Bay hotel in Dominica, recently issued a statement announcing the property will reopen in November following repairs to damage caused by Hurricane Maria.
On November 1, Secret Bay, which is widely considered the best hotel on the island, will reopen with six villas: Zabuco I, II and III; Ylang Ylang I and II and a new, larger Ti-Fy Villa. All Secret Bay villas will now offer private plunge pools.
A centrally located, sit-down restaurant will offer locally sourced favorites and bites. A yoga, spa and wellness pavilion will serve as a riverside destination for intimate wellness classes and luxurious spa treatments.
The Residences at Secret Bay will also soon press forward, building a rare Dominica real estate offering within the embrace of Secret Bay.
