A slate of new all-inclusives are set to debut in Cancun and the Riviera Maya this year.
Already open is the new Desire Mansion within the Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort, which officially began welcoming guests in January. The adults-only, clothing-optional property offers all-suite accommodations and exclusive access to premiere experiences. The three-level resort-within-a-resort has six Mansion Suites and two Royal Suites; Mansion Suites have a king-sized bed, living area, bathroom with a separate shower, his and hers sinks, an oversized walk-in closet, a terrace overlooking the solarium and a private swim-up pool for suites on the first floor and a couple’s Jacuzzi for suites on the second floor. The two Royal Suites, both of which are on the top floor, have all of these amenities as well as a separate living room with a pole dance space, a fully stocked bar, and a second bathroom. Guests also receive access to all of the amenities of the Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort and VIP transfer, private check-in and welcome kit, top-shelf alcohol, a butler, exclusive clothing-optional areas, a unique version of the brand’s playrooms and access to an exclusive area of Desire Pearl’s private beach.
March will see the opening of the Now Natura Riviera Cancun, a 537-room resort set on a white sand beach overlooking the ocean. Top-shelf spirits are part of the Unlimited Luxury inclusions here, plus families can have fun at an infinity pool with a waterslide and a Rollglider aerial ride. The Spa by Pevonia is designed to resemble the region’s famous cenotes.
April will see the debut of an all-new brand from Karisma Hotels & Resorts: Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma. The product of a partnership between the all-inclusive resort company and Jimmy Buffet’s eponymous lifestyle brand, the new Margaritaville Island Reserve properties will aim for a “barefoot luxury vibe.” The brand’s debut resort, Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma Riviera Cancún, will be set beachfront in the Riviera Maya, and it will set the tone with such amenities as flip-flops and welcome drinks upon arrival. The resort will also have 148 guestrooms and suites, along with four pools, four restaurants, six specialty bars including a License to Chill Bar and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar, and an 8,000-square-foot St. Somewhere Spa, by Karisma. A second Margaritaville Island Reserve resort is also planned for the Riviera Maya, as well as further properties in Jamaica and Cap Cana.
Also that month, the Dreams Vista Cancun Resort & Spa will open its doors near the gated community of Puerta del Mar, which is approximately a half an hour from the Cancun International Airport. Each room will have views of the Caribbean or nearby Isla Mujeres; elsewhere on the property, guests will be able to take advantage of a Spa by Pevonia, two surf pools, a splash park, a rooftop pool and daytime and nighttime activities.
Later this year, Karisma will open the new flagship property for its Nickelodeon-branded resorts, the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya. The property will have 276 oceanfront swim-up Pad Suites and Flat Suites, plus four Nickelodeon-themed Penthouses on the top floor. Also planned is a 500,000-square-foot Aqua Nick park; a Nickelodeon Place area for interactions with popular Nickelodeon characters; and a fitness center and spas (which will include treatments for kids).
