Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort, the waterfront hotel on the edge of Dominica’s capital, Roseau, has launched an “All-Inclusive, Island-Included” resort experience. Besides the usual all-inclusive offerings, such as food and beverages, guests who avail of the new experience will have access to several activities—from a lionfish catching expedition to hiking and exploring the Trafalgar Falls and Titou Gorge.
In addition to enjoying city, land and/or sea adventures, guests can immerse themselves in off-property island activities that also include a community touchpoint—be it a sweet treat or cocoa tea from a local restaurant or beverage shop, a local arts and craft offering or a cultural experience. The new model, which involves independent tour providers and local food and beverage outlets, is aimed at supporting the community at large.
The “All-Inclusive, Island-Included” package includes all taxes and charges, and is available to guests who stay for at least five nights. It is inclusive of daily breakfast, a two-course lunch, afternoon snacks and a three-course dinner; unlimited house beverages and alcoholic drinks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; a welcome pack in-room minibar; a selection of daily scheduled water or land adventure experiences; cocoa tea, juices and cakes at local eateries; a beach discovery visit; round-trip airport transfers; two 60-minute massages per stay for one or two, based on occupancy; two 60-minute yoga sessions per stay for one or two based on occupancy; unlimited scuba diving; kayaking and other non-motorized water sports; and national park fees and entrance fees among other services and amenities.
The numerous excursions in the package include hiking to Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge, the Middleham Falls and hot springs, Spanny and Jacko Falls, Freshwater Lake and Boeri Lake; lionfish hunting and snorkeling by boat; guided Roseau city walking tour and visit to the Mero Beach.
Willing guests can donate to a local charity at check-out.
Prices for the “All-Inclusive, Island-Included” package start at $349 per person per night based on double occupancy in a renovated oceanfront room. Upgrades are also available to experience more adventures, such as swimming with the island’s sperm whales, canyoning, night snorkeling, hiking to Boiling Lake and exploring Kalinago Territory.
The resort is also offering three alternative packages: A breakfast, beverages and island-included package starting at $286 per person per night (minimum stay of five nights); a standard all-inclusive meal plan starting at $255 per person per night (minimum stay of five nights); and a breakfast and beverage plan for $190 per person per night (minimum stay of two nights). Guests can also book at standard room rates without an all-inclusive package.
Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort recently unveiled 31 renovated Oceanfront Rooms and Oceanfront Deluxe Rooms. These rooms are part of the resort’s new master plan that also calls for two Oceanfront Suites to be updated this summer besides the introduction of six new Oceanfront Junior Suites with en-suite bathrooms, kitchenettes and interconnecting rooms, as well as a new waterfront spa and 24-hour gym. Also forthcoming are 60 Fort Rooms; a fitness center with eco-friendly equipment; a business center; a new bar and lounge; a 200-seat conference room; a 250-seat sun deck for weddings and other events; an art gallery; a wine and rum cellar; a gift shop; and, three new meeting rooms.
