Grand Hyatt Baha Mar has announced the appointment of Chris Watson as director of sales and marketing. Bringing a distinguished career in hospitality sales, including more than 20 years of leadership experience with Hyatt Hotels, Watson joined the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar team on September 2, 2025.
In his most recent role as area vice president, field sales at Hyatt, Watson led a significant team of sales professionals responsible for more than 300 hotels in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. As a key driver of innovation and strategic improvements, he routinely delivered impressive performance gains across the portfolio. Prior to that role, Watson served as regional vice president of sales with the Hyatt Sales Force, leading a team of over 30 global sales directors towards consistent revenue growth and an expanded customer base.
Watson’s deep understanding of the industry began with on-property roles, including his time at Hyatt Regency Dallas and Hyatt Regency Atlanta, where he set group production records.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Baha Mar team,” said Peter McMahon, managing director at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. “His wealth of experience and passion for luxury hospitality will help us reach new heights as we move into the year ahead.”
As Grand Hyatt Baha Mar’s director of sales and marketing, Watson will lead the on-property sales and marketing teams, overseeing the hotel’s comprehensive strategies to drive revenue and grow market share. He will manage all key market segments for the property—including group, transient and catering sales, and will be responsible for innovative marketing initiatives and public relations efforts to uplift and enhance Grand Hyatt Baha Mar’s presence.
“I am honored to join the talented team at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar,” said Watson. “Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues who share a passion for excellence, collaboration, and creating memorable experiences for our guests. I look forward to bringing that same competitive spirit and team-driven approach to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar as we continue to build on the resort’s success and position it as one of the premier destinations in the Caribbean.”
With more than 1,800 guestrooms, luxury suites and residences, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar offers travelers an elevated escape in the heart of the Caribbean.
Guided by the brand pillars of both Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and the broader Grand Hyatt brand, Watson will lead multi-faceted programming designed to build lasting client relationships and secure the hotel’s success in the competitive luxury market. He will be based out of Atlanta.
