The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort in Quintana Roo, Mexico, has partnered with TerrinArt to create a pop-up gallery at the resort.
The gallery will display six paintings by Belgian artist and Playa del Carmen ex-pat Peter Terrin. His work, self-described as “a mix of modern impressionist and assiduous old school,” will be located in the foyer of the resort’s grand ballroom. Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort chose Terrin since it best felt he matches its “elegance, luxury, creativity, boldness, and approachable luxury lifestyle.”
Currently Terrin lives in Puerto Aventuras Qroo, and has had his works included in exhibitions such as: Art Monaco 2015; ArtExpo New York 2015; Spectrum Art Miami 2014; Kayapo Guardians of the Rain Forest Toronto, 2014; Shared Interest New York 2014; Coming Home / Solo Show Belgium 2014; Brussels Art Fair 2013; Gallery of Kunstkeuken Netherlands 2012 and Faces of the Universe Mexico 2012.
From its architecture to its interior design, the resort has placed a high value on art. The pop-up gallery, available through June 2017, enhances that characteristic.
Just five minutes from Playa del Carmen is Grand Velas Riviera Maya, which is participating in the SE Spa by Grand Velas offering.
“Seasons” is the theme of SE Spa (“se” meaning “one”), and each spa will have a rotating theme as the year goes on.
In addition to changing themes, each hotel will have its own totem, individualizing the themes. Grand Velas Riviera Maya will be symbolized by The Hummingbird – the path of wellbeing and happiness. “Embodying freedom, the hummingbird represents the delicate balance between spirituality, beauty, and physical wellbeing.”
Grand Velas Los Cabos and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit are also participating.
