Meliá Hotels International launched its newest property, The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real, on December 15. The opening coincided with those of the adults-only Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and the family-friendly Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, which together used to be Meliá Caribe Tropical Resort.
The three Meliá openings this past weekend came after $140 million in work, $30 million of which went towards renovated the two former Meliá Caribe Tropical Resort properties. The Grand Reserve, which came at a cost of $110 million, marks the third Paradisus property to open in the Dominican Republic.
The Grand Reserve features 288 new accommodations that range in size from 800 to more than 3,000 square feet. The most noteworthy of these offerings, the Swim-Up Suites, come in one- or two-bedroom options and include direct access to an exclusive pool, garden areas and a solarium.
The new Paradisus resort offers 14 restaurants and bars. Debuting at its first Paradisus property is the cigar bar Black Oak. Other options include a gourmet market, modern steakhouse, ceviche bar and more.
The property provides guests with an assortment of amenities and activities. Visitors can head to the Beach Club along Bavaro Beach, participate in water yoga, take a fitness class at the Circle Studio, play at the kids’ adventure park Blast! Aquafun Park or relax at the Natura Bissé spa.
