Hilton and Hotelaria Brasil have announced the signing of a strategic development agreement for Hotelaria Brasil to initially develop five franchised Hampton by Hilton hotels in Brazil – marking the brand’s debut in the country.
As part of the agreement, the companies have confirmed the first hotel is scheduled to open in 2019 at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
"While we continue to pursue growth opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America, Brazil has remained a focus market as it boasts the largest economy in South America,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, global head of Hampton by Hilton, in a written release.
Expected to open in early 2019, the 160-room Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos Airport will be located less than two miles from the airport.
The hotel will feature a three-meal-a-day restaurant with a local and international menu, a bar and lounge, a fitness center, event space for up to 300 guests and complimentary airport shuttles.
The latest resort plans are a part of Hilton’s ongoing plans to expand throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. In fact, Hilton saw 139 hotel openings worldwide in 2017, including Hampton hotels in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay. As part of Hilton, Hampton by Hilton Gaurulhos Airport will participate in Hilton Honors, the loyalty program for Hilton’s 14 hotel brands.
Hilton currently has a portfolio of more than 130 hotels and resorts open in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company is actively pursuing additional Caribbean and Latin American growth opportunities and currently has a pipeline of roughly 80 hotels throughout the region.
