Nearly a year after Hurricane Irma, Hawks Cay Resort in the Middle Florida Keys will reopen August 30. The $50 million renovation added two new restaurants, introduced an adults-only area and redesigned the property’s guestrooms and public areas.
As part of the property improvements, Hawks Cay Resort will feature new restaurants. Sixty-One Prime provides guests with a fine-dining choice, serving prime steaks, seafood and seasonal specials created by Executive Chef William Ryan and the restaurant’s chef Adam Matyi. Sixty-One Prime will also offer private romantic dinners in guests’ rooms and around the Saltwater Lagoon.
Other additions include the casual eatery Hawks Cay Marketplace, serving salads, sandwiches and pizzas that visitors can take to-go. By the resort’s Tranquility Pool, Hawks Cay will open the new adults-only area for guests 21 and older. The expanded area now features a bar and grill selling food and specialty drinks.
Hawks Cay Resort, the recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award and a member of the Preferred Hotel Group Lifestyle Collection, sits on Duck Key, about halfway between Key Largo and Key West. The property provides 177 guestrooms and 250 two- and three-bedroom villas. It offers a full-service marina, six restaurants, a saltwater lagoon, five swimming pools and the Calm Waters Spa. While there, guests can dive, kayak, kiteboard, standup paddleboard, play tennis and take a Segway tour.
