Hilton Hotels has announced plans to welcome the Waldorf Astoria Cancun and the Hilton Cancun resort to the global hospitality company’s portfolio in Mexico. Developed by Parks Hospitality and set to open in 2021, the neighboring properties will offer a combined total of 780 rooms across 100 acres of Caribbean beachfront.
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun will provide 150 guest rooms and suites, with waterfront or mangrove-facing terraces and private balconies. The hotel will have the signature Waldorf Astoria Spa, integrating Mexican healing traditions with native ingredients for its treatments, as well as modern fitness facilities, two plunge pools, and two dining experiences. Guests can also enjoy locally sourced Yucatecan cuisine that will be offered at additional dining experiences throughout the property.
For a beachfront vacation, the neighboring all-inclusive Hilton Cancun resort will have 600 guest rooms that offer panoramic views of the beach. The resort will welcome guests to lounge on the beach, enjoy the swimming pool complex, and experience curated experiences in local art, gastronomy, and culture. The hotel will also have six all-inclusive culinary experiences for guests.
The design firms SB Architects, EDSA and HBA have been selected to create a transition between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the two properties. Inspired by the surrounding area, the designs of the two hotels will incorporate classic Mexican colors and materials, as well as modern design elements and technology.
The 100-acre beachfront property will be located near the municipality of Benito Juarez, Cancun, a town and seaport in Quintana Roo on the Yucatan peninsula, approximately 10 minutes from Cancun International Airport.
