Riu Hotels & Resorts has announced the debut of its third hotel in Costa Mujeres: Hotel Riu Latino. The group is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Mexico this year.
Hotel Riu Latino is an adults-only property that offers 24-hour all-inclusive services. It features 594 rooms and guests can choose from standard double rooms to suites with views of the Caribbean Sea, besides swim-out rooms with private pools.
The property features six restaurants: the main restaurant Moctezuma; an Italian restaurant Milan; an Asian restaurant called Geisha; a steak house; a gourmet restaurant, Kulinarium; and Pepe’s Food, a grill buffet. It also has five bars: the lounge bar Mariachi, with a terrace; the lobby bar Velvet; a 24-hour sports bar; and two pool bars, Tequila and Mezcal, the latter of which is a swim-up bar.
Additional facilities include Renova Spa; five outdoor pools, besides Splash Water World Water Park; and Pacha, the club, which is open from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Activities include catamaran cruises, kayaking or beginners’ scuba courses in the pool. Guests can also enjoy various parties at the hotel, such as Foam Fest, Silent Disco and Beach Party.
From December, Riu Latino guests will also be able to enjoy “Riu Party” events at Riu Dunamar. The “Riu Get Together Party” will be held in the hotel theater every Friday, alternating between the White Party and Neon Party themes, so all guests in this destination can enjoy one of the chain’s star products.
Riu Latino joins Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and Riu Dunamar, both located within two miles of the new hotel. The Riu Latino is nearly 10 miles from Cancun, where history buffs can explore the wonders of Mayan culture. The international airport is 20.5 miles away.
The group is also set to open the Riu Palace Kukulkan in November.
