Hotel Westland, opening at RailSpur in Seattle’s Pioneer Square in spring 2025, has unveiled its Pacific Northwest-inspired interior design by Curioso. Developed by Urban Villages and managed by Aparium Hotel Group, the hotel pays homage to the city’s history from railway to waterway, along with its nearby waters and forests.
Hotel Westland is located in the RailSpur micro-district, a cultural hub where "art, music, history, culinary and community converge." Named after the original Westland Building of the early 1900s, Hotel Westland is designed to preserve its brick exterior and historic essence by The Miller Hull Partnership. Throughout Hotel Westland, guests will feel the balance of urban-inspired exposed brick and millwork softened by the nature-forward colors and materials of the Pacific Northwest. Upon entering, guests will be surrounded by lounge seating and lush vegetation throughout the double-height lobby space.
Hotel Westland will offer 120 guestrooms, including five suites. Custom wood and leather furniture intends to strikes a balance between classic and contemporary, while metal and tinted glass partitions separate the bathroom and sleeping areas.
Within the hotel’s second-floor restaurant is a Solarium that offers open glass windows and an abundance of greenery. On the roof, guests are greeted by Pioneer Square’s first rooftop bar with city views and the many shops and restaurants below.
Curated by global art production house ARTXIV, Hotel Westland houses a collection of 328 original commissions from 35 local and international artists that celebrate the Pacific Northwest’s landscapes. Upon Hotel Westland’s opening, all works in the collection will be available for purchase through ARTXIV, with proceeds funding new commissions to expand the collection.
