Hotels in Florida are beginning to reopen after the powerful Hurricane Irma made landfall in the state twice over the weekend, once in the Florida Keys and once on Marco Island.
Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach in Miami reports that it is officially reopening Friday, September 15.
The Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa announced that it was able to reopen Thursday morning.
The Stanton South Beach, The Palms Hotel & Spa and Circa 39 Hotel all report that they did not receive any structural damage, and are fully restored with power. Restaurants at all three properties are also open.
The Setai, Miami Beach reopened Wednesday, with all gym, spa and housekeeping services operational. The property’s oceanfront pools and beach service are open, but with limited food and beverage offerings. Guests with questions can reach out to reservations@thesetaihotel.com.
The W Miami reports that it sustained minimal damage from the storm, and that it will be fully operational and accepting reservations starting Friday. The hotel will also resume service as usual at the 15th and Vine restaurant, exercise facility and spa, 50th floor Wet Deck and Whisper Cocktail Lounge. For questions, contact 1-305-503-4400. The W South Beach plans to reopen Friday.
Melia Hotels International, which operates the ME Miami and Melia Orlando Suite Hotel at Celebration, says that its properties are fully operational. ME Miami reopened Wednesday. For more information contact me.miami@melia.com.
1 Hotels confirms that the 1 Hotel South Beach will reopen Friday at noon, with the property’s ocean-front pools, Sand Box dining, Beachcraft restaurant, penthouse, Bamford Haybarn Spa and Spartan Gym, and poolside cabanas and in-room dining all operational. Beach service will be available Saturday. The hotel’s 1 Rooftop pool and Watr restaurants are still undergoing beautification efforts following the storm and will reopen at a later date.
Leslie Hotel, which is located at 1244 Ocean Dr. in Miami, reports that it is set to reopen Thursday.
The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, remains open and operational. Its team and the city are working to clear the property and surrounding roadways of scattered debris to restore limited service operations as of Friday. The property, including its 10 food and beverage outlets, will be fully operational Saturday. In a written statement the resort also indicated that many businesses in the Hollywood area will be up and running by Thursday.
Ashford Hospitality Trust, which owns the Crowne Plaza Key West Florida, reports that its hotels in the path of the hurricane did not sustain any significant damage, with a few properties sustaining minor damage. All of Ashford’s properties are open and operating.
Xenia Hotels & Resorts said that the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa in Key West is currently closed. The resort’s employees and guests were evacuated in advance of Hurricane Irma making landfall. Xenia said it is currently unable to provide further updates on the property’s physical condition or when it is expected to reopen pending a complete assessment as soon as circumstances allow.
The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is closed and plans to reopen Friday, or as conditions may allow. The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami; Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami; Ritz-Carlton Naples; The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples; and Ritz-Carlton South Beach are closed. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and the Miami Beach EDITION will be closed until Friday.
The JW Marriott Marco Island Beach is closed, and is waiving cancellation fees through October 2. Guests with reservations can contact 800-228-9290.
