How to Help Hotels Affected by Recent Hurricanes

Across the South, numerous states continue to feel the devastating aftereffects of the Hurricanes Helene and Milton. For those looking to assist these hotels and their employees, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) says it is “ready and willing to assist all our partner state associations.”

The AHLA outlined the below state partners with information and links that will allow you to assist in their relief and recovery efforts in the weeks and months ahead:

Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association

The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Disaster Relief Fund is set to help restaurants and lodging establishments to recover, repair and reopen and to support employees who are financially needy or distressed from the impacts of the Hurricane Helene. For more information on the FRLA’s Disaster and Emergency Resources, visit frla.org/hurricane-resources/

Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association

The Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association’s Disaster Relief page includes vital information for hotel employees, managers and owners, as well as for evacuees and travelers.

North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association

North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association’s comprehensive Hurricane Helene dedicated website, Recovery Help for Western NC, offers resources for those impacted, along with ways to reach out and help. This page includes “general information” as well as ways to donate, volunteer, the latest hotel and restaurant reopening updates and more. Other funds will go directly to hotel and restaurant employees, while another is set up for businesses looking for financial assistance.

South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association

On this page, you can find ways to help support emergency relief funds for those in the hospitality industry, including through Hubitality, à la heart GVL, the SC Hospitality Disaster Relief Fund and DoorDash and Hello Alice’s Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund.

Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association

The Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association has also set up a Hurricane Helene assistance website. Here, you will find the most updated information regarding ongoing rescue and recovery efforts, along with information about donation platforms.

In addition, the East Tennessee Foundation supports the state's counties that have been most severely impacted in the state by Hurricane Helene.

The AHLA adds that it will continue to engage and support its state partners in their rebuilding and recovery efforts.
