While much of Florida has returned to normal following Hurricane Irma, some resorts in the Keys are just now opening after the heavy rains and winds.
Highgate has announced the reopening of The Keys Collection hotels including The Gates Hotel Key West, 24° North Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, and Fairfield Inn & Suites. The company announced today that all amenities are open and operational.
Some resorts, however, won’t be opening their doors for a little while longer.
Islamorada Resort Collection -- Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina, Amara Cay Resort, La Siesta Resort & Marina and Pelican Cove Resort & Marina -- located in Islamorada, Florida, is making the best of their situation by taking this time to renovate over the next six months to bring the properties back better than ever.
“Our team is committed to restoring, rebuilding and reopening all four of our Islamorada resorts as quickly as we can,” said area general manager of Islamorada Resort Company, Eddie Sipple in a written statement. “We are incredibly thankful to our dedicated team who have worked tirelessly to prepare our properties to resume full operations. We have engaged more than 500 construction workers who are currently doing everything they can to repair our properties so that we can welcome guests back in the near future.”
The resorts are reporting that each property had varying degrees of storm damage, causing a staggered reopening of the resorts and their outlets.
Starbucks at Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina has already welcomed guests back and is the first of the collection’s entities to reopen.
