Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of Thompson Palm Springs. The new Thompson Hotels property spans two-and-a-half city blocks along the Palm Canyon Drive downtown. It marks the first project between Hyatt and Dallas-based HALL Group.
Thompson Palm Springs opens with168 bungalow-inspired guestrooms, including 18 suites. Later this year, the hotel is set to debut Upper Stories, an adults-only tower. Situated in a private enclave at the hotel’s edge, Upper Stories will house a separate collection of 42 guestrooms with five suites, besides a private pool and lounge reserved for Upper Stories’ guests. Guestrooms range in size from king and double queen, up to the 1,750-square-foot Thompson Suite. All guestrooms have private balconies, flat-screen TVs, black-out curtains, minibars with local delights, a selection of in-room beverages, and more.
Lola Rose Grand Mezze is a Levantine-inspired all-day dining destination on the second floor of the hotel. It welcomes guests and locals for brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert and poolside dining with a menu of small plates, shareables and large format dishes complemented by a range of beverages. In the near future, the hotel will open two additional dining concepts, including a HALL Napa Valley Tasting Room showcasing a selection of wines, alongside a Mediterranean concept from Bar Issi on the ground floor.
Thompson Palm Springs offers more than 20,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including the 6,200-square-foot San Jacinto Ballroom and the 2,500-square-foot Lola Rose Terrace. The hotel also offers partial and full buyout packages, including the forthcoming Upper Stories tower and additional custom options.
Other facilities include more than 30,000 square feet of ground-level retail space and a fitness studio.
Thompson Palm Springs is located three miles from the Palm Springs International Airport. Nearby attractions include the Palm Springs Art Museum, Desert Hot Springs and The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.
