Destination wellness retreat, Preidlhof, in the Northern Italian town of Naturno, has unveiled new additions to its programming for 2023. Focusing on better sleep, digital detoxing and weight loss, the retreats aim to allow guests to discover a more authentic, mindful and joyful approach to life in 2023. The new programming is under the stewardship of Patrizia Bortolin, who holds the title of wellness alchemist and spa concept designer at Preidlhof.
Based on guest feedback and deeper research analysis, Preidlhof’s team of wellness experts have refined and redesigned existing programs into brand new retreat journeys. These include:
- Weight Loss Retreat – Enjoy the Journey (seven nights): Designed to allow guests to discover pleasure, improve awareness, and activate a weight loss mentality. It is a holistic, purposeful program for dynamic people who need to renew their energy, reshape their silhouette, and lighten their mind. The Weight Loss Retreat coordinator guides the guest to focus and benefit from the program’s vast offering, tracking progress along the way.
- Sleep Better – Calmer Nights for Brighter Days (six-plus nights): Supervised by Dr. A. Angerer and supported by sleep medicine experts, Preidlhof has created a highly personalized wellness program designed to deepen and transform one’s sleep and to find one’s own personal rhythm. Quality of sleep is assessed not just by observing the night, but also in considering the quality of one’s day, as well as uncovering deeper, underlying causes in the body. Retreat participants wear a discrete medical device bracelet throughout the stay, which is connected to a Sleep Lab where doctors evaluate and explain the in-depth results. Elements of the Sleep Better program are also integrated into the Menopause Retreat, as well as other Retreats dependent on individual guest needs.
- Holistic Fitness Retreat – Move Your Way (six-plus nights): Based on the latest neuroscience analysis combined with ancient practices, this retreat encompasses a new approach to movement. Incorporating years of research as well as personal holistic training (distinct from classic personal training), it is designed to foster more vital energy, assist with stress reduction, generate a reconnection with self and the rhythm of surrounding nature, promote higher self-esteem, and achieve improvement in mood and attitude towards life.
Preidlhof has also launched new treatments and experiences for 2023. These include:
- Launch of New Organic & Vegan Skincare Line & New Facial Treatment: Preidlhof has launched its own signature skincare line, the culmination of many years of study. It is an innovative, natural, and environmentally friendly vegan line created by an all-female team of friends and professionals who share a commitment to clean, sustainable beauty. The new skincare products have a high concentration of botanical and biotechnological active ingredients that respect the environment and biodiversity. The new products are available for purchase in the Spa, on the website, and at other select retailers.
- Heal Through Quietude – New Digital Detox Kit: While at Preidlhof, guests can further enhance their transformational journey by trading in their smartphone for a beautiful, vintage Digital Detox kit. It allows guests to experience their stay more mindfully and fully, and expand inner presence, sensorially and creatively. Preidlhof is certified as a “Quiet Place” to protect by the Quiet Park Association for the silent beauty of its natural surroundings. Guests are encouraged to swap virtual interaction for real engagement and rediscover the joy of “vintage travel.”
- Spa Ritual: ‘Freedom for Two’: This highly scented aroma ritual for face and body is designed to empower, energize, and inspire life and creativity. The treatment is designed for couples, friends, or family members, personalized for each pair regardless of gender or age. This enveloping, sensory ritual harnesses essential oils and ancient wisdom like moxa (a form of heat therapy that stimulates circulation and lymphatic flow), and includes a deep face and body massage, scrub, or body cleanse.
- Resort Activities for Deeper Cultural Experiences: In 2023, guests can add on a series of new local experiences and encounters to their retreats. In curating these, Bortolin blends her passion for wellness and travel to connect guests with local traditions, people, and places. Experiences include wild swimming, local wine tastings, village Vespa tours, coffee overlooking the Dolomites, mountain sunrise hikes, “Farmer’s Life”, and mindful local eating, in addition to the already established and award-winning forest bathing sessions led by ‘Lady of the Woods’ Ingrid Mossmair.
- New Healing Gourmet Menu and Food Programming: Bortolin is consulting with Chef Emanuele Giorgione, a leading international expert in vegan spa cuisine, to further enhance Preidlhof’s Wellness Healing Gourmet Menu. Predominantly plant-based and created to appeal to all the senses, the menu changes every evening and incorporates freshly grown ingredients according to the season. Additionally, psychologist and fitness trainer Norma Jean leads a new weekly workshop on the ‘9 Types of Hunger’ and the ‘Apple Journey’ experience. Also offered are new sensory analysis and mindful eating experiences including chocolate, salt, and olive oil tastings, in addition to a slow meditative coffee experience, to help guests overcome judgment and limitations towards food.
