Southern California's La Quinta Resort & Club Unveils Makeover

La Quinta Resort & Club in California has announced the completion of its property-wide renovation. The project includes updates to the resort’s lobby, guestrooms, dining outlet, pool and more. Set against the backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains, the property is the longest-running resort in the Palm Springs area and one of only two resorts in the country for which a city has been named.

Spanning 45 acres, the resort grounds are home to a range of trees and flowers alongside 42 pools and picturesque courtyards. The renovation, led by architecture firm Leo A Daly, honors the hotel’s Spanish Colonial Revival architecture while introducing modern enhancements that elevate the guest experience. To that point, the revitalized lobby now sports hand-painted tiles, travertine-bordered fireplaces and greenery that complements the resort’s vintage photographs. At its center is a hand-carved desk inspired by the resort’s iconic wooden doors in The Plaza.

In addition, each guestroom in the resort has been refreshed with contemporary furnishings and modernized bathrooms. The refreshed PLunge at the Renker Pool beckons as a 21-plus, adults-only retreat with its vibrant tile work, a bar with seating, grab-and-go café, two adjacent pools with infinity-style overflow edges, hot spa and climate-controlled cabanas.

The Grove, an outdoor venue framed by palms and the Santa Rosa Mountains, provides the perfect setting for weddings and a range of events. With on-site restrooms and a banquet service area, this location is designed to host everything from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations.

Soon, the resort will also unveil a renovation of its signature steakhouse, Morgan’s in the Desert. Serving regionally inspired cuisine crafted with ingredients from local purveyors, the redesign pays homage to the resort’s founder, Walter H. Morgan and its surroundings.
