Le Saint Hubert Hotel & Restaurant Opens in France

Six years after the opening of Le Saint Hubert restaurant in the Provençal village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, chef-owners Lise Kvan and Eric Monteleon have officially opened a small hotel in the two-story building tucked in the hills of the Luberon Valley in France.

A local establishment since 1852, Le Saint Hubert has been a cherished part of the area, previously serving as a post relay, cinema, ballroom, auberge, bar and restaurant. Today, it stands as a two-story semi-gastronomic restaurant and boutique hotel, restored by couple Kvan and Monteleon, who purchased the establishment and opened the restaurant back in 2019.

The hotel offers six uniquely designed rooms, which have an open floor plan where the relaxing area and bathroom are separated by a tiled partition wall to maximize space. Guests can also expect locally sourced antiques, custom oak woodwork, as seen in a series of consoles, closets and shelving units, as well as modern amenities including a complimentary minibar.

Facing the hilltops dotted with 11th-century ruins, a village church and a fortress, the café-bar serves as a daytime coffee shop to wine bar and provisions store. It offers a hand-picked bottle selection, light bites, grab-and-go options, and more.

The restaurant faces the Luberon mountain range, offering views of the valley. Chefs Kvan and Monteleon are committed to championing the region’s producers and ingredients. With their à la carte menus available for lunch and dinner, they pay homage to traditional, artisanal methods of organic agriculture, animal husbandry, butchery, cheese-making, baking, smoking and preserving, and use time-honored French techniques.
