Le Sereno St. Barth, the beachfront property located on the Grand Cul de Sac, reopened its doors this week for the 2019-20 season. New this year is a Michelin-starred culinary team, as well as four brand-new Suite Piscines.
Following a total rebuild of the hotel after Hurricane Irma, in which Le Sereno was demolished and rebuilt from the ground up, Le Sereno will debut four new Suite Piscines for the 2019-20 season. The new suites have the option to connect rooms and have two large, heated pools and views of the Grand Cul de Sac. When adjoined, the new suites create a private villa experience.
Restaurant Le Sereno has views of the bay from the open-air dining room and Plage, the beachfront extension where guests can enjoy their meal under coconut trees with their feet in the sand. New for the season, the restaurant will debut a brand-new, Michelin-starred culinary team led by executive chef Raffaele Lenzi. Chef Lenzi is joined by the talented chef Andrea Cimino and food and beverage director Stefano Gaiofatto, who come to St. Barth’s from Le Sereno’s sister property, Il Sereno Lago di Como, where they helped the restaurant Berton Al Lago earn its first Michelin star within a year of opening.
Chef Lenzi’s new menu at Restaurant Le Sereno will focus on fresh, local ingredients crafted into contemporary Italian cuisine. Guest favorites include Spaghetti con Aragosta (lobster spaghetti), while new menu options include Spaghetti with Fresh Cucumber Ceviche, Aragosta con Caponatina di Verdura (lobster with a vegetable caponata), Spaghetti Ai Cinque Pomodori (spaghetti with sauce made from five tomato varieties) and Caciucco alla Livornese (traditional Italian fish soup served with toasted bread). The restaurant’s popular Aperitivo Hour will also return, where guests can enjoy Mediterranean bites, wines and cocktails to the tunes of live guitar.
Another note for foodies: The island will host the annual St. Barth Gourmet Festival November 6-10.
Le Sereno is also expanding its guest experience for the 2019-20 season with three new wellness-focused offerings:
- Sunrise Meditation: Starting November 15, guests can start their day with 45- to 60-minute oceanfront guided meditation sessions led by one of St. Barth’s yoga teachers. After setting their intentions, guests receive a fresh pressed juice or smoothie from Restaurant Le Sereno. Sunrise Meditations will take place every Wednesday and Friday at 7 a.m.
- Healthy Hour: The complimentary, rotating schedule of daily fitness classes end with a fresh juice or smoothie made with locally sourced produce such as coconut, mango, papaya and guava.
- Starlight Cinema: Le Sereno will launch beachfront movie screenings on December 1, where gusts can enjoy an evening under the stars complete with snacks and beverages from Restaurant Le Sereno.
The hotel will also introduce a new retail boutique with such Italian brands as Larusmiani, Cambiaghi and Carioca. Last year, the resort debuted a new spa with treatments from Swiss skincare brand Valmont, an updated restaurant with ocean views, family suites and new guest amenities.
