Margaritaville Holdings is continuing its expansion with plans for two new resorts in the United States and Costa Rica.
As part of a deal with Driftwood Acquisitions & Development (DAD), the Tan-Tar-A Resort in central Missouri and Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa in Costa Rica will join Margaritaville’s portfolio of hotels and resorts.
The Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa is in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, on the northern Pacific Coast. The property has white sand beaches, 120 guestrooms and suites, and activities aimed at eco-tourists, families and couples. Other amenities include a main pool with swim-up bar, an oceanfront restaurant and lounge, a family center, watersports, a spa, a tennis court and a fitness center. Social event and corporate meeting facilities are also available, including a private venue overlooking the ocean. Nearby activities range from scuba diving and deep-sea fishing to jungle canopy tours and day trips to the Arenal Volcano.
Tan-Tar-A Resort is a 500-room lakefront property set on 1,150 miles of shoreline on Lake of the Ozarks. It has 27 holes of golf across two courses, a 103-slip marina, eight food and beverage venues, a full-service spa and salon, a fitness center, horseback and pony riding, and sports facilities including tennis, basketball and beach volleyball courts. There are also indoor and outdoor pools throughout the property, as well as a 20,000 square foot indoor water park, more than 91,000 square feet of event space and an on-site wedding chapel.
Renovations are expected to commence immediately and will bring all facets of the two properties into line with Maragaritaville’s signature brand elements. The properties will remain open during the phased conversion.
Margaritaville just passed a couple of key milestones, including the opening of the big new Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman back in February on Seven Mile Beach, which included the property’s first 109 guest rooms, the main pool, and the YARA steakhouse.
Also in February Margaritaville inked a partnership with Karisma Hotels & Resorts to develop Margaritaville, an All-Inclusive Experience, by Karisma, that will include new resorts built in beachfront destinations throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. Separate from the Grand Cayman resort, which is not all-inclusive, these new Karisma-partnered resorts were described as Margaritaville’s first entry into the true all-inclusive market by Margaritaville Holdings Chief Marketing Officer Tamara Baldanza-Dekker in an interview with Travel Agent.
