Marriott’s EDITION brand is headed to Las Vegas. As part of a deal with private real estate development firm Witkoff Group, Marriott is developing a new, integrated Las Vegas resort called The Drew Las Vegas, which will mark the EDITION brand’s debut in Sin City, as well as the first JW Marriott hotel on the Strip.
The new resort will be at 2755 Las Vegas Boulevard South, close to the SLS Las Vegas and Circus Circus. With an anticipated opening date in late 2020, the new resort will have nearly 4,000 rooms and suites, plus over 500,000 square feet of convention and meeting space. Other notable amenities will include a casino, as well as entertainment, nightlife, retail and dining venues. Both the EDITION and JW Marriott hotels will be managed by Marriott International.
Two Blackbirds Hospitality, which is led by former Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin, will oversee the launch and operations of The Drew Las Vegas.
First developed by famous hotelier Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International, EDITION is a luxury lifestyle hotel brand currently with properties in London, Miami Beach, New York and Sanya, China. This year, the brand is slated to debut more new hotels in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Barcelona, Shanghai, West Hollywood and Bodrum, plus another New York property, in Times Square.
