Following a two-year renovation, the new Mayfair House Hotel & Garden—originally The Mayfair Hotel & Spa, an icon of Coconut Grove that first opened in 1985—is welcoming guests. The transformation includes fully renovated guestrooms and curated art from local and international artists.
The Miami hotel features two new F&B concepts, Mayfair Grill and Sipsip, by local hospitality group Lost Boy & Co. The hotel’s namesake Mayfair Grill restaurant, garden café and atrium bar serves wood-fired cuisine fueled by the Sonoran flavors of Arizona, Southern California and New Mexico. The Fountain Bar is located in one of the original elevator shafts of the historic hotel and offers the same menu as the restaurant. Celebrating Coconut Grove’s Caribbean ancestry, Sipsip is a Calypso-style rooftop pool bar offers island-inspired cocktails, an extensive rum program, a Caribbean menu and live music.
Signature archways, unique finishes and rich decor elements incorporated by the iconic property’s original architect, Kenneth Treister, have been preserved. New York-based interior design studio, Goodrich, fully transformed the hotel during an extensive two-year renovation. Each guestroom was designed to be a “small private home” with its own terrace and living, dining, and sleeping areas that are accessible from Mayfair’s main courtyard.
Guests can choose from eight room types, ranging from 500-1,124 square feet. The guestrooms feature carved wooden headboards, deep standalone bathtubs, private walled gardens and outdoor showers. No two rooms at Mayfair House Hotel & Garden are exactly alike, promising guests a new experience each time they visit.
The heart of Mayfair House Hotel & Garden is its sun-filled courtyard and garden featuring fountains, pools, copper lighting and sculptural architectural details. Guests enter the hotel through a large ornate wooden door that was restored from the original property, and access their rooms from the corridors that surround the garden.
Mayfair House Hotel & Garden offers 8,500 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, ideal for galas, cocktail parties, conferences, exhibitions, banquets, presentations, and the weddings that made the original property a popular venue. The 1,060-square-foot gym features a full suite of new, state-of-the-art exercise equipment.
