A new Breathless resort is coming to Tulum. Mexico-based hotel development company Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe reports that it has signed an agreement with a group of private investors and AMResorts to develop the Breathless Tulum Resort & Spa, with construction on the new property set to begin in the second quarter of 2019.
Plans call for the new resort to have 300 suites, with a tentative opening date scheduled for the second half of 2021. Grupo Hotelero said that the management of the new property will be similar to the deal the company has with AMResorts on the three, recently launched Reflect Krystal Grand properties. That deal, announced this past June, saw AMResorts launch Reflect Resorts & Spas as a new all-inclusive brand at three preexisting properties co-branded with Grupo Hotelero’s Krystal Grand flag. Reflect later celebrated its official launch at this past October’s Cancun Travel Mart.
As with the Reflect Krystal Grand deal, AMResorts will be responsible for the commercialization, sales and marketing of the new Breathless Tulum, which Grupo Hotelero says will help drive customer acquisition in the American market through AMResorts’ parent company, Apple Leisure Group. Grupo Hotelero will operate the resort.
Grupo Hotelero said the deal will bring the company’s portfolio to 28 hotels representing 6,932 rooms in 18 cities across Mexico, including hotels currently under construction or expansion. AMResorts currently has a collection of 55 resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, representing an inventory of over 20,000 rooms. Breathless is AMResorts' adults-only all-inclusive brand, aimed at solo travelers, couples and groups of friends traveling together.
