New Ski Hotel in Val d’Isère: Mademoiselle

French hotel collection Airelles has announced that the new Mademoiselle Val d’Isère hotel is set to open December 19, 2019, in the Val d’Isère ski area. The new property is the latest opening for the luxury hotel collection, which also includes Les Airelles in Courchevel and La Bastide in Gordes. Airelles said it hopes the new property will become Palace accredited, like the other properties in the collection.

The new hotel is set in the center of Val d’Isère at the base of the slopes, which Airelles says makes it the only luxury hotel in the area with ski-in / ski-out access. Designed as a reinterpretation of a medieval-inspired castle, the hotel will have 41 keys, including nine suites and five private penthouses with their own dedicated butler. Each room will have a private balcony or terrace with views of the slopes or village and will be individually appointed with antique furniture and art.

Also on property will be the largest spa in Val d’Isère, Airelles says, which will be created in partnership with the skincare and cosmetic brand Guerlain. Facilities will include a swimming pool, Hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, two sensory showers, a healthy bar serving a range of teas and drinks inspired by a traditional French Echoppe, and a fitness center with its own coach. The spa will also have six well-being cabins, including “Le Boudoir,” a cabin designed specifically for manicures and pedicures.

Mademoiselle will also host a gallery of boutiques selling brands such as Moncler and Brunello Cucinelli, as well as hair styling by Christophe Nicolas Biot. The Bernard Orcel Ski Salon will have equipment to rent or buy, as well as a snack buffet.

In terms of dining, Terrasse will serve lunch against a mountain backdrop, while in the evening, Le Carnotzet will offer cheeses and regional specialties in a traditional Savoyard atmosphere. At VI, fine French cuisine will be available for dinner. The Bar and Le Fumoir will be open all day serving liquor, wines, a Champagne menu created exclusively by female winemakers and a wide selection of cigars.

For families, a Kid’s Kingdom will offer children a chance to play in a recreation of the enchanted Broceliande forest, a tribute to Merlin. The space will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a nanny on hand. The nanny will also assist young guests in the ski room. There is also a private movie theater reserved for guests and a specially created aquatic space for children called The Grotto
