Although it was still about eight months away from fully completing a $55.4 million renovation, the potential for the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and Golf Club was quite apparent to Travel Agent after we stayed there back in September.
What impressed us the most were the views from the recently-renovated Diamond Tower, which represented one of the portions of the project that was already completed at the time of our stay.
Whether it was helicopters flying high in the Waikiki sky or the scores of lavish sailboats leaving and entering the marina outside of our room, there was no shortage of excitement from Travel Agent’s suite on the 30th floor.
And now the rest of the hotel is fully complete and open for bookings.
Prince Waikiki, positioned at the heart of Honolulu’s vibrant and diverse Chinatown, Kaka‘ako, Ala Moana and Waikiki neighborhoods, announced this week the completion of its eight-month, hotel-wide transformation and redesign of its lobby, 563 floor-to-ceiling ocean view guest rooms and suites, dining outlets, outdoor infinity pool area and meeting spaces.
All 563 remodeled, ocean-front guest rooms, including 33 luxurious one- and two-bedroom suites, showcase floor-to-ceiling glass windows and afford each guest a full view of the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Waikiki, the coastline and the horizon beyond. With windows that open to tropical breezes, guests have the option to transform their room into their own private lanai.
The decor and interior design gives nod to the hotel’s historical sense of place: the carpet reflects sand dunes that was once formed by the estuary where the hinana fish flourished and the hand painted wall mural captures the naio flower, which thrived along the banks of the Piinao waterway. Bathrooms include updated fixtures, modern washlets and specialized bath amenities by Mālie Organics, offering all-natural organic products embodying the tropical flora of Hawaii.
The hotel also offers Prince Waikiki Club Rooms for those wanting to enjoy spacious, modernized guest rooms, located on the highest floors, with enhanced amenities and personalized services.
Prince Waikiki Club Room guests have private access to the poolside Prince Waikiki Club Lounge, which offers indoor and outdoor terrace seating with spectacular ocean views, complimentary morning breakfast, afternoon snacks, evening hor d’oeuvres and beverages, along with a personalized concierge service including private club lounge check-in and check-out.
