The all-inclusive Occidental at Xcaret Destination resort recently went under a $11 million renovation. This includes 764 entirely refurbished rooms and suites as well as updating the resort’s culinary program. The resort is located in Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya.
This renovation is in conjunction with Barceló Hotel Group’s nearly all-encompassing $120 million major renovation project, according to the company.
The resort houses five pools, including an adult-only saltwater pool which offers views of the Caribbean, two Mayan ruins, a spa and gym, nightclub, and 18-hole mini golf course. Guests also have access to natural surroundings including a natural river formation and private bay on a soft white sand beach. Also, according to the company, this resort is the only one to offer exclusive entrances to the nearby Xcaret eco-archaeological park, which offers over 40 attractions and exhibitions.
There are 10 bars, including a club, and 11 restaurants at Occidental at Xcaret. Guests have the option of casual quick bites to upscale sit-down dinners.
Guests can opt for the Unlimited Xcaret Xperience which offers unlimited access throughout their stay to the Xcaret Park, where there is over 40 cultural attractions.
At the Royal Level, guests are given unique and exclusive services, including personalized check-in, private lounge, exclusive restaurant, private swimming pool area, and solarium with waiter service. Additionally, Royal Level guests have access to Balinese beds that are close to the ocean. Each cabin includes views of Cozumel Island, a personalized beverage concierge, and a private sun terrace.
