Hotel management company OLS Hotels & Resorts appointed Rob Robinson as vice president. Coming from a background of working with Hawaii hotels, Robinson will oversee operations on the islands and work to increase the company’s footprint in the state.
Most recently Robinson worked with the real estate investment and hospitality management firm Highgate as managing director. He oversaw hotels in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, growing the company’s presence to almost 3,000 rooms.
Before that he worked as the general manager of the Pacific Beach Hotel, leading a $115 million renovation and rebranding it as Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. He also served in executive leadership positions with Highgate and Kimpton Hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area and owned and operated restaurants and bars.
OLS Hotels & Resorts recently acquired Hotel Renew and plans to carry out an extensive renovation there. Elsewhere in Hawaii, the collection includes Plantation Hale Suites in Kapaa and Banyan Harbor Resort in Lihue on Kauai. It plans to add more properties to its Hawaii collection in the upcoming years.
Robinson currently sits on several Waikiki boards, including the Waikiki Improvement Association, as vice chairman; the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association; the Waikiki Business Improvement District Association; and the Waikiki Beach Special Improvement District Association.
