Our Habitas is expanding its presence in North America with the launch of Our Habitas Mazunte in the Mexican state of Oaxaca this November. This sustainable resort offers views of the Pacific coastline and a private beach club, and invites travelers to connect with each other while exploring the region, its cuisine and surf breaks.
Our Habitas Mazunte will comprise just 28 rooms, all with Pacific Ocean views. Guest programming will include wellness, adventure, music, art, food and learning. Available activities will include surfing, snorkeling, hiking and turtle liberations. At the spa, guests can explore different treatments that meld ancient spiritual techniques with advanced wellness practices. The spa houses a barrel sauna, jacuzzi and cold plunge. Guests can also opt for multiple modalities of yoga, breathwork or HIIT classes at the jungle gym. Those seeking a traditional healing experience can head to the temazcal for a Mayan ceremony to cleanse and rejuvenate both the body and the mind.
The Clubhouse will serve as the main gathering space for guests. Guests can relax by the pool or relish local flavors, created in the property’s open-air kitchen. A mezcal and tea bar will serve healthy smoothies, teas, cocktails and more.
As for the destination, the town of Mazunte offers small boutiques stores, local restaurants and proximity to some of the best surf breaks on the West coast of Mexico. Mazunte, a “Pueblo Mágico,” is known for its laid-back beach community, colorful side streets and the Mexican Turtle Center. Through the Habitas RISE initiative, the brand will actively support conscious tourism in Oaxaca while contributing to its fund for every guest.
Our Habitas Mazunte is located approximately an hour’s drive from Puerto Escondido and Huatulco airports. Upcoming openings include Habitas Atacama in Chile, this September; and Habitas Santa Teresa in Costa Rica, this December.
