QT Queenstown, the latest opening from QT Hotels & Resorts and the design group's second hotel in New Zealand, officially opened its doors today.
The newly built 69-room designer hotel features public spaces designed by hotel and interior designer Nic Graham. Inspired by the property's natural surroundings—particularly the white-peaked mountains and clear blue lake—Graham developed the lavender, soft blue and charcoal grey color palette following his first visit to Queenstown.
Guest rooms at QT Queenstown feature the brand's trademark "Gel Beds," floor-to-ceiling windows, designer furnishings, Nespresso machines, Malin+Goetz amenities and gin martini kits featuring local Karven spirits exclusive to QT.
In-room elements are locally sourced by the brand's stylist, Anna Roberts, including chocolates produced by the nearby Remarkables Sweet Shop, ceramic birds in the form of New Zealand's native Tui bird by Steiner Ceramics NZ, screen-printed bed cushions made from pine trees and a minibar stocked with products from the Central Otago region. The bathrooms are outfitted with white marble, stand-alone bathtubs and matte black furnishings.
The highest room category, The Remarkable King, is located on the top floor. Amenities for guests staying in this room include a charcuterie board and cocktails upon arrival; a daily, fresh pastry and fruit basket, and late checkouts.
Open since March, the hotel's restaurant and bar—Bazaar Interactive Marketplace and Reds Bar—are set on the sixth floor, offering a great spot to watch the sun set across the Southern Alps.
QT Queenstown is also complete with a ski room, housing all essentials for the surrounding winter sport attractions. Also, a short walk along the esplanade leads guests to some of the country's trendiest dining, sightseeing and activities.
