Zel, the new hotel brand by Meliá Hotels International and tennis player Rafael Nadal, has announced its first location will open on July 1, 2023. Located along a beach in Palmanova, Zel Mallorca will pay tribute to the Mediterranean lifestyle.
Zel Mallorca is ideally situated 20 minutes from Palma de Mallorca’s airport and five minutes from Puerto Portals. Located along a half-mile stretch of white sand and crystal-clear waters, Zel Mallorca is centrally located for guests to also discover the capital city of Palma.
As guests enter Zel, they will be greeted by a center patio space, which will function as a multi-use lobby, joining the various indoor and outdoor social spaces together. Zel also offers guests two pools: A main pool with sea views and an adults-only pool.
The hotel has 165 guestrooms, including 21 suites with views of the Mediterranean Sea. Guestrooms are adorned with local art and have appliances from Create, giving a retro feel to the rooms while maintaining the contemporary essence. Amenities have been selected by personal care company Haan, which also promotes protection of the planet.
Zel Mallorca will launch a new culinary experience, in partnership with popular Spanish brand Beso Beach. Beso Beach will bring its decade of experience in Mediterranean and Basque Country cuisine to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Beso Beach Mallorca. The beach club-style seafront restaurant will offer tables directly on the sand and a menu of signature seafood dishes, including Carabinero prawns, lobster tails, mussels and more.
The open-air lobby will house a coffee corner from Barcelona’s famed specialty coffee brand Syra Coffee, as well as its own concept store offering exclusive products from local and international brands. Syra Coffee has more than 30 locations throughout Spain and their vision is based on an environmentally friendly product.
For wellness offerings, Zel Mallorca will provide guests with professional trainers to create their own daily routines. The hotel also offers a large gym, multifunction heated rooms, hanging equipment for outdoor activities and meditation spaces. For those who love outdoor sports, the gardens and the spacious beaches are well-suited for group activities. Alongside the outdoor activities, the hotel also will open a spa with three treatment rooms, two jacuzzis, a steam room and a sauna.
To complete the experience, the hotel has also designed a program of concerts, music series and local excursions. Designuests can enjoy everything from fitness boot camps and tastings of local products, to exploring some of the island’s most iconic destinations on foot or on a bike, with routes exclusively selected by Rafael Nadal himself.
