Marcel Stittner has been appointed the general manager of Rancho Pescadero, the 103-suite resort slated to open in September. With over 28 years of luxury hospitality experience, Stittner has a proven history of driving environmentally forward initiatives. He will oversee the daily operations of the resort.
A native of Germany, Stittner began his hospitality career in 1994. Most recently he led the team at Tabacón Thermal Resort and Spa in Costa Rica, where he managed the rebranding and renovation of the hotel, besides its reopening process following pandemic-related closures. Before that he honed his skills in management, and food and beverage operations at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Costa Rica, where he rose through the ranks from food and beverage director to leading operations for the resort and casino. At IHG Hotels & Resorts in Venezuela and Costa Rica, Stittner oversaw the InterContinental Meetings and Sound Strategy and the opening of the first InterContinental Club Tower in the world. He has also held leadership roles in other destinations including the Maldives, Nigeria and Germany.
“Marcel has a proven reputation and the type of experience that will easily translate into a project like Rancho Pescadero,” said Lisa Harper, founder, Rancho Pescadero. “His enthusiasm and talents will help bring to life our vision for this Baja escape.”
In his new role, Stittner will lead the hospitality and operations team at Rancho Pescadero and, once opened, manage its day-to-day operations. With a commitment to regenerating the local community through various environmental and infrastructure efforts, Stittner will forge the path for Rancho Pescadero towards a culturally resonant future for travel and tourism.
Rancho Pescadero is located just an hour north of Cabo near the artist’s enclave of Todos Santos in Mexico’s Baja region.
