RIU Hotels & Resorts officially opened Hotel Riu Dunamar, the company's first in Costa Mujeres and its eighteenth in Mexico, earlier this month. The 5-star hotel is located on a white-sand beach with turquoise waters located 20 miles north of the hotel zone of Cancún.
The new-build hotel has modern facilities and contemporary décor. It has 740 guestrooms that include free Wi-Fi, minibars stocked with soft drinks, water and beer, and beverage dispensers, among others. For dining, the Riu Dunamar has gourmet, Asian and Italian options in its Kulinarium, Bamboo and Pompeya restaurants, respectively. In addition to six different bars, the Riu Dunamar also has the Las Brasas steakhouse and its main buffet restaurant, Isla Mujeres where local cuisine is available alongside a variety of international dishes.
The hotel's five outdoor swimming pools—two of them with swim-up bars—all overlook the beach. Another big attraction is expected to be Splash Water World, the water park that expands the hotel's leisure options. The RiuLand kids' club, the daytime and nighttime entertainment program for adults, the live shows and music, and the Pacha discotheque complete the range of leisure options on property.
The Hotel Riu Dunamar also has a sauna and hydromassage bath in the Renova Spa.
RIU has hotels in Playa del Carmen, Cancún, Riviera Nayarit, Los Cabos, Mazatlán and Guadalajara.
