Conrad Bora Bora Nui, the first luxury resort to open in Bora Bora in nearly 10 years, recently announced the appointment of Ron Sandvig as the director of sales and marketing.
With more than 30 years of luxury travel and resort lifestyle experience, Sandvig is now bringing his expertise to the recently-renovated and rebranded resort in French Polynesia, where he will be leading sales and marketing for the United States and Canada.
“We are pleased to welcome Ron to the Conrad Bora Bora Nui family,” said Jean Duc, general manager for Conrad Bora Bora Nui, in a written release. “With his extensive experience in leading luxury hospitality brands, knowledge of the competitive landscape and respect within the industry, Ron is a valuable addition to our team.”
Most recently, Sandvig served as director of travel sales at Island Hotel in Newport Beach, CA. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as vice president of travel industry sales for Terrenea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
While at Terrenea Resort, Sandvig oversaw the pre-opening and resort launch, exceeding group booking goals and establishing invaluable relationships and partnerships for the resort.
Before joining Terrenea Resort, Sandvig served as regional director of sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, representing 76 hotels and resorts in 27 countries, specifically working with The Luxury Collection and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
Opened April 2017, the Conrad Bora Bora Nui is the first Conrad hotel in the South Pacific. Located in a private cove on Motu Toopua, a small islet located off the coast of Bora Bora, the resort faces out toward the open ocean.
A member of Hilton Worldwide’s Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the private retreat features 86 Overwater Villas and 28 Garden, Infinity and Beach Villas.
The resort is home to French Polynesia’s only two-story overwater bungalows – the stylish Presidential Villas. The resort also offers a full-service spa and four culinary dining concepts.
