Round Hill Hotel and Villas has appointed Opal Gibson as director of sales and marketing. Gibson brings over 20 years of hospitality experience and a strong knowledge of the Caribbean to the property’s sales and marketing team.
As director of sales and marketing, Gibson is tasked with executing new and unique sales and marketing strategies to help further the property’s reach throughout the world. Gibson will oversee the day-to-day operations of Round Hill’s sales and marketing team, implementing her analytical, creative and staff motivation skills. She will also assist in the creative ideation of on-property offerings and programming, helping further connect guests to the property and island.
Born in Jamaica, Gibson earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of the West Indies and later a Master of Business Administrations from Baruch College. During her career, Gibson has held sales and marketing positions at Sheraton Hotels of New York, Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, and most recently SLS South Beach. She is also the founder of her own hospitality consulting firm, Hotel Marketing Strategist, which was founded in 2009 to help oversee sales, marketing, public relations and revenue management initiatives for luxury hotels.
“We are thrilled to begin working with Opal and for her to join the already amazing sales and marketing team at Round Hill,” said Josef Forstmayr, managing director. “She has great experience working with various luxury properties around the world and we are excited to see what campaigns and initiatives she brings to our resort.”
