Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa, scheduled to open on February 28, 2022 in Cancun, has appointed Efraín Canto as the general manager. Canto brings over 20 years of hospitality management experience to the luxury resort having led and opened hotels and resorts in Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, the United States and Mexico.
Over the years, Canto has held various leadership positions and most recently served as general manager at The Westin Resort & Spa in Los Cabos. Throughout his career, according to Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa, he has been instrumental in overseeing hotel and resort openings and developing sales and marketing campaigns as well as food and beverage concepts with brands including Marriott and Hilton.
Expressing his joy in a press release, Canto stated, “I am delighted to take on the role of general manager at Royal Uno, to continue setting new standards in service excellence and offer exceptional and authentic Cancun experiences for families and guests of all ages. Our goal is to continue the development of Mexico’s family-friendly appeal, and together with the hard-working team at Royal Uno, I look forward to expanding that legacy.”
Canto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel Business Administration from the Technological Institute of Cancún, industry-relevant certifications from OSHA and SafeServ, a wedding planning certification, and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
