It’s been a busy final month of 2017 for Sandal Resorts International as the Caribbean all-inclusive chain has seen four of its resorts either open or reopen in December.
Here’s the breakdown of all four:
Most recently, the grand opening of Sandals’ second resort in Barbados took place on December 20 when the all-suite Sandals Royal Barbados opened its doors.
Featuring 222 concierge and butler-level suites, including Sandals’ signature Rondoval, Millionaire Butler, Skypool and Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up suite concepts, the all-new build also introduces three new restaurants, the brand’s first rooftop infinity pool, a gentlemen’s barbershop and a four-lane bowling alley.
Sandals Grande Antigua, located in St. Johns, Antigua, welcomed its first guests since September this past Sunday, December 17. This was the first time Sandals Grande Antigua, the only Sandals-flagged resort in Antigua, has closed since opening in 1992. Unrelated to the hurricanes, the resort closed on September 20 for “important maintenance projects,” according to a Sandals news release.
Also, on December 16, Sandals announced that Sandals South Coast’s 12 new Over-the-Water Bungalows opened to guests.
Following its recent multi-million renovation projects in Jamaica, Sandals South Coast’s expansion introduced its over-the-water concept, with the addition of over-the-water bungalows accessible via a heart-shaped pier; Sandals’ first dedicated over-the-water bar called Latitudes, where guests can enjoy their cocktails in hammocks suspended above the Caribbean Sea; and an over-the-water wedding chapel with a glass floor aisle.
Lastly, following its closure due to Hurricane Irma, Sandals announced that Beaches Turks and Caicos Village & Spa reopened its doors on December 14, offering guests new features.
Beaches Turks & Caicos has expanded its offerings to include Beaches’ first Indian restaurant, Bombay Club, bringing the total number of restaurants to 21. Guests will also be able to enjoy two brand-new food trucks at the waterpark: Mr. Mac, serving mac & cheese, and Curls ‘n Swirls, for a taste of the island’s ice cream.
Families will also have the opportunity to take part in new culinary adventures happening every night, such as a fish fry on Wednesdays and weekly beach parties featuring live entertainment and cuisines from around the world.
