Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Maui has announced the completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation in July, as well as several new facilities and offerings. Situated on 23 oceanfront acres at Pu‘u Keka‘a (Black Rock) on Ka‘anapali Beach, the historic resort was the first resort to open in Ka‘anapali in 1963 and is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa’s $26.5 million renovation completely changed the property’s 508 guestrooms and suites. The revamped spaces incorporate colors, textures and artwork that play off Maui’s vibrant hues and views of neighbor islands Lanai and Molokai. Blending past and present, the refreshed rooms also include art curated by native Hawaii artist Kristie Fujiyama Kosmides.
Families can enjoy the resort’s newly renovated 665-square-foot ‘Ohana (Family) Suites with their two double beds, deluxe pull-down wall bed and bathroom filled with specialty bath amenities.
For weddings and honeymoons, the newly renovated Ali’i Suite that’s perched atop Black Rock and offers views of Ka’anapali from the 180-degree, wrap-around lanai with a private heart-shaped lawn. Plus, the Dinner Under the Stars multi-course experience for two offers a dinner complete with a private butler and views of Black Rock.
The all-new signature restaurant, ROCKsalt, led by Executive Chef Lyndon Honda, mixes local Hawaiian produce with exotic spices and ingredients in globally inspired shared plates.
The resort offers a number of ocean activities, including the resort’s 55-year-old nightly sunset cliff diving ceremony and new aqua gliders for scenic navigation along Maui’s shore, as well as snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding and more, courtesy of the Ka’anapali Surf Club.
Wellness seekers can enjoy a new signature facial at The Spa at Black Rock using products from Hawaii’s Ola Tropical Apothecary line. Infused with tropical fruit like guava, mango, coconut and bamboo, the treatment includes a honey or enzyme scrub and upper-body massage. The Spa at Black Rock is the first spa to offer this facial and Ola’s new, small-batch Hawaiian skincare line of products. In addition, they’ve recently introduced the Ola Blend Bar, where guests can create their own bath rituals using indigenous Hawaii plants and island elements.
