As Puerto Rico continues its recovery from last year's Hurricane Maria, The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort has announced it will reopen in October.
After $60 million in renovations, The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort announced it will reopen on October 29. The St. Regis also has begun work on an $85 million condominium project, will soon debut its home collection The Atlantic Drive Estates and is planning a $30 million expansion to the resort.
Nearly the whole resort will be touched by the renovations, led by Puerto Rican designer Nono Maldonado and Hirsch Bedner Associates of San Francisco. The 139-room resort includes views and access to two miles of private beach.
A half hour drive from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport and Old San Juan, the resort is located between El Yunque National Forest and Espíritu Santo River State Preserve on 483 acres of beachfront land. The resort is a Certified Gold Audubon Signature Sanctuary and rated AAA Five Diamond.
The resort provides guests access to a fine-dining restaurant, poolside cabanas and a variety of water sports including surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and fishing.
The resort has also begun work on building 30 condominiums across three buildings for $85 million. The Ocean Drive Residences have three and four-bedroom options as well as penthouse residences. The first of these is expected to be finished by June 2019.
The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort will soon debut a collection of homes, The Atlantic Drive Estates, west of the resort. The resort will also spend another $30 million adding 60 rooms to The St. Regis.
